Alex Shutter is a Partner based in Shanghai, Greater China. He has over 10 years of experience in consulting both in Europe and across Asia-Pacific and has resided in Shanghai since 2011.
Alex鈥檚 work focusses on the retail and consumer goods industries as well as the consumer-facing aspects of other sectors, notably hospitality, leisure and online services. He works primarily on corporate strategy, route to market and commercial effectiveness topics, particularly on how changing consumer behaviour affects these areas for clients听
Across all topics, I鈥檓 always looking for the consumer angle and addressing that is what excites me most about our work. Knowing your end consumers and their motivations is too often overlooked but meeting and exceeding their needs is typically the key to building successful business models.
Alex holds a Masters in Chemistry from the University of Oxford, UK. He is the office leader in Shanghai and co-chairs Oliver Wyman鈥檚 Social Impact Committee for Asia-Pacific, helping to expand the firm鈥檚 contributions to our societies. He is a keen traveller and enjoys hiking, long distance running, snowboarding and scuba-diving.
